WorkCover's Accident Insurance Policy insures your business against all claim costs in the event of a work-related injury to your workers. If you have a business in Queensland and employ workers, you are required to insure them against work-related injuries with WorkCover Queensland.

The date your employees will commence working
Wages information from today until the end of the current financial year
A brief description of your business's primary business activity

To apply for a policy

Australian Business Number (ABN) if you have one
Australian Company Number (ACN) if you have one
GST Status and GST certificate (if available)
Your workplace details, including the business or trading name and physical address
The full names of all directors or business owners
The full names of additional parties you’d like to have access to the policy (optional)
Bank details for your business (optional)
Accountant details for your business (optional)

Terms and conditions of this insurance:

If you have a business in Queensland and employ workers you must insure them against work-related injuries by accurately maintaining an accident insurance policy with WorkCover Queensland for the duration of employment
If you employ/or have employed workers prior to obtaining an accident insurance policy you will be uninsured for the period prior to obtaining the policy
Directors, partners, trustees or sole traders working for their own business are not covered by an accident insurance policy
Individuals engaged by you who hold their own ABN may be considered ‘workers’, and need to be covered by an accident insurance policy
Your business will be insured from the date and time we receive this policy application or from a future date that you have advised you will commence to employ from
You will be required to pay an excess amount for any accepted claims where the worker requires time away from work due to their injury
